Our adventure started at 11am on Saturday, April 23rd. My family and I pulled up to the Baymont Inn & Suites in Pearl, Mississippi hoping to be able to get into our room a little earlier then expected to get ready for a wedding.

We were greeted at the front desk by a toothless concierge wearing a dirty low cut t-shirt that exposed her chest tattoos. Needless to say, her outward appearance was actually much better then her attitude. She rudely told us we couldn't check in until 3pm. I instructed her that we were in town for a wedding that started at 3pm and we already scheduled an early check in for an up-charge.

She told us that we were a third party sale and that we weren't allowed to early check in. It took some polite persistence, but we managed to get her to agree to an early check in. This arrangement came, however, with much attitude and her telling us she was only allowing it out of the kindness of her heart. Sadly, this isn't how the nightmare ended.

We get up to room 302 only to discover the door had been kicked in a few times. The security latch was removed and reinstalled on the door and now was hanging again by the tips of the screws. I used a tool I had to re-secure it onto the door, but even then it felt like a false sense of security. The condition of the room was unsanitary.

There was hair all over the bathroom floor and even in the mini fridge. The bathtub was all full of grime, as if it hadn't been cleaned in months and the room was filled with dust as if it hadn't been dusted in a long time. At this point we felt we had no other choice, but to stay. We had a wedding to get to and we felt like we wouldn't be there much anyway.

We felt as though it was useless to complain to the front desk because of our prior confrontation. We proceeded to get ready for the wedding and left the hotel hoping to put our deplorable room in the back of our minds for the evening. Unfortunately, it gets worse. When we returned to the room at around 10:30pm, the elevator had a faint burnt rubber smell that could only be described as marijuana smoke.

That faint smell worsened when the elevator doors opened up to our floor. The entire hallway smelled like a Cheech and Chong house party. We quickly got into our room to escape the odor and to bed down for the night. We all decided to shower in the morning because after a night in this hotel we would need to clean up before heading home.

In the morning, we awake to all of our face towels being used. So, we decided to run down to the front desk to request more only to run into Ms. Sunshine herself. This was about 8:30am.

Ms. Sunshine informed us that housekeeping hadn't arrived yet so we would just have to wait. She would call us when towels were available. At this point we were desperate to get out of there so we showered ourselves the best we could with our bare hands.

We then packed up and left the hotel as quick as we could.

This WAS the worst hotel experience we have ever had. Truly a nightmare!
