We were assigned a room entirely unsuitable for a family with children:
The window was broken and inadequately repaired.
Construction debris and a dumpster were mere steps from our door.
A man was sleeping on the nearby stairs.
Paint fumes in the room caused health concerns.
At 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving we checked in & found our room to be in an unsafe area.
Going back to the lobby to try to switch rooms there was no staff, we had no choice but to pack up our children and belongings and pay for another hotel that was safe and functional.
Instead of fond memories of our holiday meal and rare time with family, my children are left talking about the man sleeping outside our room, and we are left with the financial strain of an unplanned second hotel charge cutting into our Christmas budget. Attempts to contact customer service is a few WR points, equivalent of about 20% off a future stay, which is meaningless & a robot response.

After not traveling with Wyndham Hotels for 18 months they take it upon themselves to place a hold on my account without notifying or asking me if I would like my account to remain active.
Upon trying to schedule a stay with La Quinta via Wyndham Hotels online, I couldn't get my password reset, and absolutely zero zip nothing worked for me online,. To make matters worse the end of day prevented me from contacting a live customer service rep.
Called today and finally was able to find out that the account policy deactivated my account. Do not use this company or it's horrible website!

Preferred solution: I would like for someone from Wyndham Rewards to contact me with an apology and how they can prevent this from happening to future customers. When deactivating an account, the account holder should be notified!! PERIOD!!!!

I recently went through trauma at your microtel hotel in London ky on 09/18/2024 an employee gave me room key to strangers I was upset and scared to go into my room and afraid to sleep on 09/20/2024 @ 3:30am I was awaken by bed bugs bites and the crawling on my legs underwear I screamed jump up took pictures and video I got front desk clerk and showed them the bed bugs at this point i packed my thinhd and left at 3:45am to go sleep in parking lot I was afraid to sleep in room the trauma was me scratching and stressing that the bed bugs was still on me I can't believe the awful stay I had I am throwing away all my belongings and hoping my vehicle is not infested room number 131

On Friday, May 24th, I checked into the La Quinta on, 11th street, downtown Austin TX. I went to dinner and a show.
I arrived back to the hotel close to 0200. My key wouldn't work. I got replacements from the front desk. They also wouldn't work.
The front desk guy came up and tried his master key. No luck, it turns out the key reader on the door lost battery power. The only guy who could reset it, to allow the door to open, wouldn't arrive until 1100. I stayed on a chair in the lobby until 0800.
The assistant manager arrived and told the front desk guy to give me another room to rest up until the maintenance guy arrived. They finally opened the door to my room atabout 1200. When I inquired about the progress at 1200, I was informed that they opened it about 15 minutes earlier, and that I was being charged $250 extra on my credit card. I was flabbergasted.
I didn't even expect to be charged the $130 that I paid originally, let alone an extra $250. I was informed that when the maintenance guy finally opened my door, he saw that a bedside table was broken. It's an automatic $250 charge. I said that it had to be a mistake...
nothing was ever broken. I was told I had 20 minutes to check out or they were calling the police. I went to my room to quickly take a shower and see what table they were talking about. It's completely ridiculous.
The table they are speaking of, is the bedside table next to the bed. It has one drawer and a piece of wood covering the underneath. I picked it up and put it back. It was never attached to the table to begin with.
It just sits there, if bumped it will fall over. I took photos and asked the assistant manager and all working the front desk to come up and see this supposed damage. They all refused, I was even accused of locking my credit card because they had trouble hitting me with the $250 for the bogus "damage" I caused. My card was never locked.
They got their money and I wasn't even apologized to. I am totally floored that these people think I just may let this go. Had there been any kind of..."Hey, we're sorry...this never happens." Instead I get a totally made up "damage" charge. I obviously want a full refund.
I would expect some type of..."Stay on the house for a weekend", or something similar.
Especially after trying that, "You damaged our nightstand" crap. Kind regards, James

I made reservations on October 4, 2024. I paid additional fees to assure reservations.
On December 6, I received a call from the manager informing me of renovations. Due to renovations, the person (Casey) asked if I would consider moving to a villa. I told him that my reservations was for waterfront and the renovations shouldnt bother us. Upon my arrival, I was informed that I had been moved and the tower was closed.
In fact, we talked to a gentleman that stated he had been there for a week that I was told had been shut down. The manager claimed he told me. I told him that was far from the truth and recalled our conversation due to my need to always document. I told him exactly what was said.
. He later said he was told not to call me, but someone else above him was going to call. He was angered when I recalled our conversation and told him he was not telling the truth. He responded in a very loud voice Are you threatening me?
I dont have to serve you and Ill call the police. He wanted to provoke me by doing this. This was very humiliating being that Im an elderly African American female that take pride in the way I represent myself. Im a retired educator and Im intelligent enough to make inferences etc.
Others all his race would have thought that I actually threatened him because they couldnt hear me.
I didnt raise my voice, nor did I say anything to encourage him to react the way he did. Im tired of being bullied and talked to in the manner that I have been by some of Wyndhams male associates.

We were staying at Wyndham Nashville, checked in on the 17th and on the 21st we came in for a rest and nap as we had plans for the night and that's when we were awakened by pouring water coming out of the ceiling first in the bathroom area, but it was extreme, and then it started in the dressing area also, this lasted over a half hour and I called because now the room was starting to flood, it took them over an hour to get to us and by that time all of my makeup and a pair of my Lucchese boots were ruined, not to mentioned it ruined our plans for the night and the room we were moved to had little to no hot water. Worst experience ever!!!

We checked into our hotel very late and when we went to bed, we found a bug crawling on my pillow. I took pictures and identified the bug as a bed bug and put the bug under a cup on the dresser.
I then went to the lobby and told the night clerk and he said they were full and there was nothing they could do. All other hotels were also full as the State Fair was going on in town.
We ended up having to stay in that room, and they moved us for the next night to a different room in the same hotel. They wouldnt give us a refund for one night, nor a comp room - not even an apology!

I had fleas in my room! I did not even check in with a pet.
I asked to be refunded and have been ignored for a month, without resolution.
I will not stay here again. I ended up with flea bites and had to go to urgent care.

Group reservation established for the wedding three months in advance for 23 rooms at the 247 room Casa de Palma Trademark Wyndham in McAllen. 27 days before the wedding date the sales director, Steve Villarreal sent an email to the bride telling her to have all her guest cancel and find other rooms.
To quote him we have had the Federal Government already (sic) extend their soldiers stay for another year in the McAllen area and that has OVERSOLD our hotel.
My first call to Wyndham Customer care I was told the sales director cannot do that and told I was being transferred to someone who could help. I was transferred to group reservations who told me they had no idea why and that they could not help. Called customer care again and Heather said she would get someone in corporate to help and transferred me to a line that offered a dial by name directory and then hung up on me. Third call and I get a fellow who gives me a case number and says resolution will occur in one week.
Get an email from Villarreal that says he is moving all our reservations to an IHG property. Call Wyndham care again and they say there will be no further efforts at resolution on their end.
No wonder WH price is headed for the basement 0 stars

What do you get when you pay $400 per night for a 5-star hotel in Athens, Greece, like "WYNDHAM Hotel"?
A noisy room with a broken air conditioner and toilet, a flooded bathroom, towels in various shades of white, and your request for a refund ignored.
